We are a family of 10 - 6 adults, 4 kids 8, 7, 6 & 4. The house was very neat & great outdoor space for kids to run around & have fun! Felt like we had plenty of space to have fun & be together. Only issue I can think of was, there were 10 of us, 3 bathrooms & we only had 4 rolls of toilet paper. Didn’t think we would have to buy our own toilet paper to stay there. Other than that it was very nice & in a great location!!

We had a nice stay. We were not ready for 3 bedrooms on the first floor and kitchen on the second. There were approximately 15 steps up to the kitchen every time we returned to the house. We were aware there were 3 levels, but thinking the main living area was on the first floor. With that said, it was a great house and we really enjoyed the back 2nd floor porch and front porch on the first floor. Anyone with trouble going up stairs needs to be aware of the many stairs that are involved.

This house had a nice amount of space, was in a great location, and was a neat historical house. However, it was disgustingly dirty. There was dust caked onto the fan blades, under the beds, on the window sill, on the door trim. There were also black hairs on some of the towels. The listing also advertised laundry, which they did not have. There was a broom and dust pan, but it would have been nice to have a vacuum given that we had little kids staying with us as well. One of the wires on the balcony was broken, which made us extra cautious with the children, and there was paint peeling everywhere. We will not be staying here again.

Stairs, stairs and more stairs! I did not see this info in the listing, so I wanted to share. First floor, 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. 2nd floor, kitchen, living room, dining room, 1 bedroom and bathroom. 3rd floor, large “dormer” bedroom (watch your head) with 2 beds and bathroom. All of the stairs are steep and narrow! The location is neat with the Mississippi River basically in the back yard. It was nice to sit on the back deck and watch the barges & boats. Local bar on one side of the house and a cute coffee shop on the other side. It was a pretty good walk to most of the bars and restaurants. I had several questions before and during the stay. The host responded about 24 hours after. The kitchen had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable. We could’ve used a few more towels but we made do. I would stay here again.

This is a great location if you have a larger group. The house is an older house which lends to it's uniqueness. Which we loved. The home has plenty of options for sleeping. The back decks are wonderful and have a great few of the Mississippi. The kitchen is well laid out and functional. Grafton is a very busy small town. So there is some noise to contend with, but as long as that doesn't bother you, this place is well worth it. It is reasonably close to St. Louis for day trips and you can definitely visit the surrounding communities with ease. We used this as a location for our graduating senior from Principia College, just up the river road in Elsah, which was perfect for us. Check out was a breeze. Thanks to the host for making it available! I would re-rent without hesitation.
